Galletto v54 and EDC17

Hi guys,


I have here a Galletto v54 (clone) and I am planning to make a full backup in bootmode of my EDC17CP14 (later when I have removed it from my car).
But for now I did some tests using OBD connector in car, and it reads a nice 2 MB file (although about 75% is filled with FF's but this is normal when not in boot mode).

Does the Galletto software also read the eeprom? And if so in at what stage?
And if not, what's the easiest way to read the eeprom over CAN?
(I know I can desolder it if needed...)

i think the only way to read eeprom with galletto is in boot mode.

Aha ok, so when I put my EDC17 in bootmode, then Galletto will automaticly read eeprom as well?

There is no true eeprom in ecu. It is emulated eeprom in flash area from tricore.

No true eeprom? Okay, then for sure ODB read is needed then, and I guess my Galletto will do it then once in bootmode.
Now just to find a free day to do it ...

i dont think so. it's like a bdm read. you need to read in boot mode to read all of you ecu. try it and report.
