I have VAG-COM V409.1 for my sons 1996 Audi A4 and a 'USB Interface cable -Dual K' from Gendan.

He has problems with his Climate control system, but the 409 will not read any codes to fault find the problem, but reads the engine.

Would the VCDS 805.4 be a better choice or any version if suggested, to read the codes on the climate control.

thanks

Would the latest Ross Tech v805.4 read codes with the older 'Dual-K' interface lead as did the 409.1.

thanks

If you can not read the climate control module by going into the module section and scanning then it's probably pre serviceable via diagnostics.

It would make no difference if you used v311,v409,v805 or the very latest version, you simply may have a vehicle that is to old to have the air con module scan-able via diagnostics.

Its electronic with 2 display screens side by side, one showing the fan speed and the air ducts selected, the other shows the temperature selected.

Thanks

Try to move the connector and spray it with wd40 etc. on the Climate control system. Sometimes the wires and the pins dont have contact so check this. I used to repair Audi clima and that was the problem :proud:

The main problem was that you could not adjust the fan speed or the ducts for direction of air flow, although the lcd shows you adjusting the speed but infact its running at high speed all the time.

We fitted another unit, that altered the air ducts, but still not the fan and now the cold air con does not work.

Any clues ??

OK, We have lift off. :proud:

I had a go myself with the Vag-Com program, firstly came up with a errors and then crashed as 'too many errors to continue'.

Made adjustments to the comms speed etc and it works.

The errors that come up are :- 00604, 01273, 01296 and 01297

thanks

Trying to find these sensors and find any info on Google etc.

Found that even with LCD control unit removed the blower still runs at full speed. Disconnected the High pressure switch on the compressor and still the same.

Any clues
