Better is remove off the chip and read out circuit. In circuit dump can be corrupted or dammaged.

read a ways off from the circuit I could, but I am looking for a solution though more easily without removing from the circuit by using tongs eeprom, but the result of error / short,,,

It is easy to read by clip .
only look to the point , then the left pin is one and right one is 8 , and second in left is 2 and right one is 7 and so on.
but you have to clean first and connect and read.

You can loss some minutes (max 5mn) removing the chip but it save you many with the good reading just ONE time. How many time you need clean all pin in circuit, lift some pin from pcb, and make connection?
Buy a hot air station like Saike 898D, the job done for 10mn.
