Hi guys

When programming a key on this vehicle should it automatically program the pin code into the ecu as well (assuming the ecu dump is Virgin) or does it only program the key to the uch?

Many thanks

it will only code the key to the uch you will have to match with another tool maybe opcom will do it for you not sure tho

opcom interface is cheap i think should do it for you if the ecu is edc16

I've got op com but it doesn't appear to support ecu programming on the vivaro. It is indeed edc16.

Check under body control / uch for matching. Not done a vivaro so can't confirm but other vauxhalls (non Renault based) are in body controller...

Thanks for that..will take a look in the morning. I've tried with clip (as a traffic) and it says programmed but Immo light stays on solid. After turning engine over and going bk into live data it then says that code not matched. Strange one!

I retrieved pin code via obd using true code programmer (genuine.) Maybe true code displays pin byte swapped or something? I'll have to find out as for some reason pin isn't being programmed in.

I take it that ecu is Virgin / reset...

Yes. Virgin eeprom. If possible with opcom would it ask for a 4 digit code instead of 12 digit? Sure I read somewhere before that it is possible to convert from 12 to 4 digit?

I haven't got a clue as not done these but I am tempted to say it would be 12 digit but again I am only guessing on the fact it's really a renault..
