nissan almera

hi a friend of mine is having difficulty getting a six cd changer to work in a n16 nissan almera,the head unit are from another nissan so is compatible,head unit works correctly,six cd changer is connected with correct wiring ect,buttons on it beep ect when pressed,just not accept or play discs,could it be somethin to do with the anti theft system{NATS} What software do i need also to diagnose faults ect on this car?

wouyldnt have thought it would be anything to do with NATS, could just be that the cd changer is ~~~~ed??

the nissan cd changers are very very poor at playing copy cd's, mine primera wouldnt read any discs at all so i took it apart and cleaned the laser, then it will play discs but if its playing a copy and hits a little bump it jumps like hell, so i've ordered a fascia and gunna put my MP3 player in it.
