I have a 2007 golf mk5 and have lost all keys, it seems i will struggle to make a key without a working key... I have clone AVDI which should be able to make key after i read the eeprom and the flash from the cluster? what tool is best to read the flash? and how is it connected? Thanks in advance

Hello.
no need to read flash, just dismount the instrument cluster and found eeprom 24c32 desolder this eeprom and read & save the file & after put it in service mode new file and write back in eeprom after solder it back to cluster,so here you need write back the original file to cluster by obd2,after it ready to give a transponder 48megamos to in tagkeytool of avdi after he do all the job in 1 minute.i don't know if your clone avdi can do it.if any new or missunderstand pleaes let us know..

thanks for your reply, so i need to read the eeprom, put it in service mode by changing some of the hex to FF? then write that file to eeprom.. then do i program key? or do i write original file back before i program the key? or do i put it into service mode to get the pin and CS etc then use to program the key?

Avdi will put it in service mode by eeprom. Go in dash - NEC - SERVICE MODE BY DUMP. or buy supervag and it's 10 minute job.

The older ones before 6-2006 you can do straight to obd.
The do not have the component security in the immo.

Haroution is right, about going for the eeprom. & rob h has also given you the best idea from the carprog site which shows you how to edit the eeprom. once you have done this you will be able to read the data via obd & do what you need to do.

And haroution has already asked you to use the thanks button, its the least thing you can do in return for everyone trying to help you

great thankyou for that. what do i connect the gateway wakeup wire to?

You need Wake up only for AUDI.
For Skoda and VW do not need .
Just Terminal 15, 30 ,
ground ,
CAN -h and CAN -l

Hello.
the problem from your reading tool (avdi clone) ON some dash the original avdi too can't read the immo date as well, for example on Audi A3,same data out come all 00000000.for the moment is the good tool (VVDI).

In this type of dash AVDI can't read immo data without working key. If you want to read immo data you must to read micronas. If you read micronas you can to make key with Tag key tool or Tango. Thei eill generate new dump only for EEPROM . You must only to modyfy EE and key will be working

Hello.
even he have working key but on some clusters immo data can't read avdi or fvdi, this point many times happen with me & till now they don't get solution avdi vag support.,but when you try read the immo data without working key,so after it show you massage (unknown instrument version) or any error massage, here he must remove the eeprom and put it in service mode to can be continue. cause (kirkmiles) he read immo data by obd2 but the result all (00000000) this mean the problem in the tool = fvdi reading.

Hello. I have an Octavia 2 2007 (dash: 1Z0920812d) with one key. I need to add a second key. I removed the dashboard and read the EEPROM 24C32. I edited the read dump file and write it back to the EEPROM. With Carprog v8.21 I still cannot read immo data. Thank you.
