Hello, I removed an eeprom from a 2010 Odyessey. The eeprom was damaged (maybe form the heat) so I could not read the crash data. So I used a Clear file from this forum. I installed brand new 95640 chip with clear file.

Once in the vehicle, it still read the "old" crash codes. How is that possible? How would a brand new chip "remember" the old codes, especially with a new clear file?

Also, I disconnected additional airbags to test for codes, and module did not give new codes for the now disconnected airbags. Did I maybe fry the Module itself?

Clearing the codes once the module is installed in the vehicle? Yes.

Ugh, that.s a real possibility. but It only has 1 standard soic 8 eeprom on the board. chip 95640. Its for 2010 Honda Odyssey, 77960-SHJ-C022-M1. I wonder if that chip is on there in a different configuration. Does anyone know?

Are you sure you have the right file and are you sure it is clear?

The Module is is gone, I only snapped a picture of one side, but the other side didnt really have anything that could have been a 95640 chip.
Here's a pic of the top side. There are two chips that could have been the one with the crash data. Anyone know which one?345569

you solider the chip incorrectly, it will be the first chip above. you can solider behind the module to access the data without removing. i do have the schematic i can give you. re-solider the chip inside the module and then read at the back of the board to see if you get the communication so you know its connected proper. At the moment i do not have the picture of the back but if you send me the picture of the back board i can make the schematic for that pin out. and list the module number, i will send you both clear file and the schematic with a tested solution.

Well by looking at your picture, the bottom one usually does not burn out and in so you replaced the incorrect SDM, the above one is a TSSOP is the one that you want to reprogram. If that SDM is burn out i say you use a one that is from an other module of the same type.

check your pm.
