DM800 PVR Picture freezes intermittently

Hi, Hope someone can help me, I have enigma2 with Blue Panel installed and MgCamd2 /NewCS2 1.62. The problem is the picture freezes on a intermittent basis but not on all channels the missus is getting hacked off with it now. so i need to find out has anyone got a DM 800 PVR which is working fine if so what software are you running. Since it took me two months to get this up and running from buying new i have been loathed to touch the bloody thing since.

There were issues with the DM800 overheating on the early boxes and some people found it necessary to install pc fans on the dm800. Have you checked to male sure your box is not overheating?

ive got mine sat on one of these laptop coolers

thats if it is a heat problem lol

Good question not reaaly considered it oveheating, i just hought it was a software issue either EMU's or Cams etc. I suppose the best way of finding out is buying a laptop cooler of some sort.

i had this and i changed a line in my MgCamd config, I will have a look and see if i remember which one.

Have you tried using a different CAM?

Hi Mercenary, I have tried another cam the other day which was a newer version of mgcamd. There is evocamd which i can load via Blue panel, i will have a go with that see what happens. Not totally convinced at the moment it is over heating switched it on this morning and it was 5mins when it froze box was slightly warm.

How long do you have it??
Dm800's were overheating early days, but that was sorted.
I have mine 10 months now and it running smooth as ever.
I'm using gemini image with mgcamd

I also get freezes when the Sly box is turned off, about every 20 secs to 2 mins. Turn the Sly box on and the feezes go away. The Sly box and the DM share a multi-lnb.

I have been struggling with this since the DM800 first came out, the only satisfactory solution I have found is to install Blackhole ver 0.7 (The later versions do not work) and download Evocamd.

I also update the seccondstage to the latest one and update drivers, this all works fine autoupdate and no freezing. Hope this helps you!
