Hello all, i hope i am asking question in right category.

I am wondering what is easiest way for calculating PIN from dump of VAG cars let's say VW mk5 with EDC16.
Is it from reading eeporm in dash or is it maybe possible from reading memory of EDC16 and calculating PIN from that dump?
Is dump stored in IMMO (dash or separate immo box) and ECU ?

Thank's

edit: mk5 i meant golf

golf 5's can be read via obd with devices like avdi, although in most cases the pin isnt of much use

Thank you for your answer, how you mean is not of much use? It can be used for key matching for example?

Yes, u can use but u need more then pin to add a key, from dealer for example in golf 5 it is easy with a good tool like AVDI, if is used u need new canbus chip and dump from dash to get CS to write on chip first with AVDI u do this too.

Cheers

You mean i need to precode transponder from specific car immo dump? Or i just need new pecoded tranponders like TP23 for VW, TP25 for Audi..... and i can program chip to car using VCDS for example

have a good read, golf 5 will need to be pre coded with CS, tools like avdi or carprog can do this as well as many others. Just a tp08 or tp23 cannot be coded with vcds

Depend on year. Golf 5 2004-2006 no need CS, just tp23

Oh yes i was talking about 2005 and 2004 years, thanks. What do you think best procedure for reading pin code, open dashobard and read eeporm, or maybe i can get if from EDC16 ECU ? Or both contain proper PIN for key matching ?

I read pin by OBD, but pin code actually is not necessary to match the key for mk5 till 06/2006. You can just add key without need of pin code. SBB work great for this. If you want erase all keys and program new, then you need pin code.

Oh that are great news, i have china SBB v33 and i did peugeot 307 and golf 4 which he asked both pin codes so i thought for golf 5 i must have too.... what about same years CAN bus VAG cars , let's say 2006 polo or skodsa octavia 2004-2006 do they need PIN code for sbb matching?
