Picking Up My OpenMedia Box Today!

Hi guys,

Nice to join you all :proud: Very excited as later on today i shall be picking up my OpenMedia box!

I'm a total noob though and i shall take a look around the forum to help me out. I know i need a null modem cable though to get the 'best' from it!

I take it a Dreambox null cable will fit ok as it's basically the same apart from the sat tuner onboard.

I shall be using the cable side to begin with and in the future the options there re: sat side, happy days :proud:

Well, I myself just do with a crossover cable as its quicker to flash an image :D Where did you buy your receiver from?

Hi buddy,

Buying it from a lad, local in Manchester brand new meeting him at 5pm to pick it up!

Just bought a null modem cable off ebay but my lappy doesnt have a serial port! sooo i'm hoping this will solve my problem

Anyone advise?

hi owen i got the same cable as you but never did get it to work.
I brought mine for doing my technomate 1500ci.
if you had any luck be nice to no wot you did.

try using a crossover instead. much quicker and some people have problems with null cables

yes crossover or if you have a wifi set up , straight cable to hub from openmedia and do it via wifi hope this is of some help
