hi folks ,

basically i have 2 f5 boxes one at my house & other at parents

the 1 @ parents is playing up firstly when ever you click on a fta hd channel bbc itv it jams the box up and picture goes all fuzzed up and only way to unjam it is unplug at the mains and try to quickly click of the hd channel! but recently this box has got even worse. firstly it trys to load then i get the bluescreen with the skybox logo and jammed! and if it succeeds past that then it just jams on every channel after 10-15 mins and you have to unplug disconnect then try again.

now to eliminate the connections on my side i have swapped the boxes & tried MY box at parents and its working fine tried PARENTS box at my house and the same problems occur so by this i can clearly see its a problem with my parents box right?

would a re flash of my parents box sort this out?

cheers for any help in advance

Sounds like your parents box is on its last legs.....so you have nothing to lose by flashing it
before flashing it save all the important bits or you will have a FTA only box again

Back up the files on the box to a usb stick just in case especially the CC*** file

thanks for the info mate i have just downloaded the firmware from aj sat dated 2013 and updated with usb .

i still have the hd problem (it jams freezes the box) but not bothred about this as theres hardly any $hd remaining so ive editted thr channel list and deleted all hd channels so saves me clicking on accidently.

ive had to come work now so left box running will check it over tonight and see if any improvement

When you swapped the boxes over, did you also swap the Power supply units, or are you using your parents box with your own PSU?

If you did swap the PSU's as well, it might be worth trying each box on your own PSU to eliminate a PSU problem.

no i didnt swap the psu's over my box is running fine on there psu unit and there box still has issues on my psu.

since the reflash i get a occasional black screen to resolve this i have to take power lead out and restart box also i get a automatic restart once in a while. its better then before.

also with the remote you have to have it directly in front of box or it don't work were as my box you can be sitting far away and it still reaches
