I have Googled etc for weeks and no-one seems to have fully explained / solved this issue.
Can anyone tell me whether this VW "additional" heater (1K0-815-071-H) can be simply upgraded to a "parking" heater (1K0-815-007) with just an internal software upgrade?.... or are there any hardware components to be added/modified within its controller pcb to allow this? ....or am I wasting my time and the only solution is to buy a specific 1K0-815-007 heater?
(Please note, I understand I have to add a telestart module + remote + aerial and add W-Bus wire to pin 2 of 8 pin plug + adapt different (long-code) settings using VCDS in several of my VW control modules)
Also, I have bought a fully working similar Thermotop V (ex RangeRover Sport, Part# JEC500790, Webasto 9007171F) for spares etc.
Would this be easier (with software upgrade?) to be adapted to a parking heater in my VW Touran? .... or will the CAN line protocalls refuse totally to match between Landrover and VW?
