You sent picture from CIM where pin is in eeprom.
In older cim must read motorola 3l40k.

I have too this CIM on table.
I try to read with Xprog like normal 1L59W but without success.
This MCU is protected. (?)
As I see, In this CIM pin 36 (XCLKS) is connected to pin 41 (VDD) an not possible to read this MCU without pin(s) lifting.
Somebody have checked connection for Xprog to this CIM with 1L59W?

OK. Readed. MCU is proteced. Line XCLKS not connected to xprog.
Eeprom is empty but flash is normal.

I know it's old thread, BUT i've managed to read 1L59W with Xprog 5.55.
You need HC(S)12 BDM adapter (1-002-0017) with external +12 connected to Xprog.
Use the following pinout.
