Need help for reading original map file smart fortwo 450 600cc 55hp 2002

Hi all , help me please read my car original map file for getting it tuned up for a little hp and torque.
I tried today with a friends Galletto but he said that i have to get the Ecu out of the car and then read the Ecu file on a bank.
Is this real or i have an option with Kess or new Galletto or something else , to read it throw the OBD ??
After i want to modify it with WinOls.
I am new ,please help me.

I am new in this and i didn't check the ecu type. I will see how to do this from net.

SMART is merc based....so you need to find the ecu.get the details and do a bit of research,or post on dk.
