VW Golf mk5 1.4 fsi Won't Start!

Hello guys, really need some help here :(

My 2005 VW Golf mk5 1.4 fsi won't start.
It turns over but just doesn't fire.

What I have tried so far:
Replaced all 3 relays in engine bay
replaced ECU
stripped ecu-engine wiring harness. checked for shorts/open faults on the injector lines
replaced all 4 injectors
replaced on board power control unit (including all relays on it)

I'm running out of ideas. What should I try next?

Replace injector loom that runs across head

Thanks autoden, but the car doesn't have a removable loom for the injectors. Each injector connector is wired individually to the main ECU connector (which I've checked).

Yes the 'check engine' light is on with ignition on (along with the other warning lamps as I believe it should be?)

I have checked the supply to the ECU with ignition on (but not during cranking, which btw is when the engine faults appear)

Correct ECU, but I have replaced it already. Still didn't start.

You have the exact same mileage of my 1992 GIII. :)

Is it out of timing? If it is there would be code "phase signal incorrect".

There's not in your list but keep an eye because that silly timing chain with silly tensioner could be the reason.

It's a mess to check.

if not can you run the starter motor 100% off another battery

hie mate this car is so tricky wat i first suggest is recheck your relay numbers relay look the same but rating affect starting. do you have spark and injector pulse

For anyone interested, this turned out to be the fusebox in the engine bay. The box was internally shorted. Replaced it and the car fired up right away.
