My indicator switch on my Vauxhall Zafira is faulty, I had a glance at the Haynes manual and ot says I need to remove the steering wheel!

Is this really needed, can't I just unscrew the casing and remove the switch?

Any idea how to remove the steering column casing mate?

I can see one screwhole on the underside but I'm not sure if it really is a screwhole, it doesn't feel like a screw to be honest.

What are those scary holes mate?

Look like Torx?

Do those need to come out?

Sorry for all the questions, lol :)

Hmm, I've just had a look at my car, I only have 1 hole under there and it seems to be a single Torx, time to get my 360 kit out ;)

Thank for your help mate, much appreciated :)

BTW, I tried to give u rep but I've already rep'ed u too much and it won't allow any more, lol

Went out and stripped it all down, my model was essentially the same but with less screws on the underside. I removed the switch and had a play with it deffo seems like the internal workings are worn out. A quick trip to the local breakers yard will soon sort that out.

Gotta laugh at that ~~~~ing Haynes Manual, "remove earth lead from battery, remove steering wheel......", load of bollocks!

Thanks again mate!
:congrats:

The car I took it out looked like it had taken a nasty beating, I hope no-one died in it, both front airbags had deployed and the engine was practically sitting on the front seats!

Do you think my car will be haunted now? :)
