Do I need a card when using a Dreambox satallite ?

If no, What is the purpose of the card. How does the box pick up the signals??

Thanking in advance

A card is used to decrypt channels.. A dish is used to receive the signals. Sorry but with your current knowledge it doesnt seem as if your going to make good use of any Dreambox!

I have a cable dreamox 500c and thanks to a lot of decent folk on this forum i have it working perfectly.

All I want is, the channels to work for me, I dont expect my Dreambox to cook and clean for me, so as far as making good use of my dreambox is concerned.....Im Happy!!!!

The problem is that the cable box is nothing like using and setting up the satellite box if you want to open encrypted channels.

The satellite box requires you to have a suitable sized satellite dish, basic understanding of linux, and networking.

Unless you only want channels from one provider then you will also need a monoblock or motorised setup. I'm sure that is why JP assumed that you might have problems with this box.

Also your question appears to ask if you can receive the signal via the card slot. Perhaps a more concise post next time would help us to understand your needs? :hmmmm2:
