I have the above Petrol model car which was driving perfect , I got up toss morning and when I try to start the car the engine won't crank and the Key light symbol on the dash stays on , can Immo b removed from this car or does it sound like an issue with the key ??

did you locked by remote then unlock by key?
because, it's lock by remote situraton
not crank.
if you did it, ignition on 1min for unlock remote alarm.
but, you didn't it, check fuses.

A common fault on Hyundai/Kia is that the little switch on the ignition that tells it there's a key inserted gets worn and the vehicle doesn't then crank. I've had that issue a few times. Another is to check all the connections from ignition ring to ecu as they also come loose.
