Hello everybody,

I am facing problem situation with a 1998 xj8 jaguar v8 4L.

All keys/remotes were lost. Car was towed to JAGUAR. (All of this occurs in FRANCE)
News keys and remotes was ordered by shop.
But shop tech didn't managed to program new keys to the car.

With new keys we can open the doors, put ignition on, alarm is still activated. (remote not programed)

Shop tech has told security and lock module (SLM) should be changed to solve the issue, with no guarantee of good results.

Car owner prefered towed back the car to me.

I am not accustomed to Jag car and don't know how to do the job.

Need your help please!!

How can I desactivate alarm?
How can I program jag new keys or other spare transponders and start car?
Is it normal engine doesn't crank at full truning ingnition switch with no key programed and alarm activated?

Thank to all for support!

From memory, if all keys are deleted and alarm is still active, keys can't be programmed by obd.
Remove immo box and add keys manually.

Thx whiskeyman.
What I know for having searching this info is that Zedbull doesn't support this immo box, that's why is not recognise.

Thx Rokibar. I will give a look to it.
How did you fix the file? by hand or with soft (which one)?

Can a locksmith expert give a look to MY posted file (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=364506&d=1458301474) (post #4) pls? just to know if everything is correct, and if keys are coded in it?

thx!!

Thank you wiskheyman. I had already looked at EFfi.

I have found only Tango and TMPro2 capable of it, or doable by hand for experts.

Rokibar, thank you my friend for your valuable help!!
At this time, did you succeed starting your car or not?
I ask the question because I don't have tool to program transponder. So I have to pay somebody to do it, so that's why I want to be sur.

Yes, they are but Tango does not recognise your dump either.

PS. Info from AD website if you want to program by OBD:

'If the alarm is set and keys are lost, then you will not be able to disarm the alarm and you will not be able to program a remote or transponder. The only way to proceed would be to get a donor GEMS module (bottom of the steering column) from another vehicle with the same part number and unlock that using an existing remote, then code a transponder'.

Thank you p1et, dealer was telling something like this, change security and locking module in trunk, then we'll be able to program new keys. I let you imagine price of such module from dealer. That's why car owner refused.

Thank you rokibar!

Ok guys, I am still at the same point, because nobody can really tell trick about alarm.

My question is:

Is the ECU coded with immo informations, waiting to match its info with immobox info before starting?

or

Is the ECU just waiting "green light" from immo box before any start?

I have in mind to buy key+immo box+alarm module (without ECU) (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e11051.m43.l1123/7?euid=f2663f9a674f44ef838aa9f2ea1073c5&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fpages.ebay.com%2Flink%2F%3Fnav%3D item.view%26id%3D191815966709%26alt%3Dweb%26global ID%3DEBAY-FR%26referrer%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Frover.ebay.com% 252Frover%252F0%252Fe11051.m43.l1123%252F7%253Feui d%253Df2663f9a674f44ef838aa9f2ea1073c5%2526cp%253D 1)...would it work according to you?

I was wondering, tell me if I am wrong:

Alarm is to protect car from not allowed door opening, ok?

So if car was locked with remote, then it is possible to unlock the car using the key in doorlock. This should desactivate alarm as we use car key.....except.... if electronic door lock module is not working correctly...
If the door module doesn't see key activation, it won't desactivate alarm...

If all this is correct, then I have to give a look to door module...damn!!!!

Not always, I work with cars (with factory alarm system) that wan't disarm when opening by door locks, for example Hyundai SantaFe (separate remote), Renault Trafic (remote with key).

Hi Guys,

I am back with this damned car.:guns:
As I was blocked, I have ordered from ebay a Key Transponder Module (KTM) with its key matching. (unfortunately only one key available)

I have installed the KTM on the car, fasten its key ont the disambled, but still plugged, transponder coil reader. (in order to use my key in ignition switch)

With this, alarm has disabled itself, I could program remote to the car.:top::top:

But engine couldn't start because of ECU immo. Immo in ECU forbides engine starting because immo data doesn't match with KTM.

SO I have removed from ECU the TMS97101P eprom. Engine starts but I have MIL "Check Eng" light on dash, and I have a fault code in ECU dealing with memory error.:mad-new:

I am moving forward, Good thing.
I would like to perform IMMO off on the ECU to avoid having engine MIL on dash.

Can someone perform IMMO OFF for me please? file attached

Thx in advance.

Well I am back.

KTM installed. both remotes programed. it closes and opens doors; activate and desactivate alarm.

To solve engine starting, as immo is coded inside ECU. I have performed IMMO OFF in ECU eprom.

Problem Solved. Thx to all of you DK members!!

If you have another set of immo box and keys plug in the other immo box then program a remote using the key for that box. Then plug your original box back in and you’ll be able to program new keys.
If you want to go immo off on the Denso ecu then just fill the dump with FF
