I do not have a Win machine in my house but I do have 2 bricked Skybox F5S (clone) though after updating with the latest AJSat list.

I use Ubuntu and tried variations of Wine and a Win 7 VM but no luck.
I keep seeing the "Set stb memory error".

Has anyone managed to flash a box from Linux?

I think you might be able to use hiren cd, it has a mini win xp bootable from usb or cd. try that.

Thanks for the info. Hiren CD worked pretty well with a few tweaks:

* Went for a bootable CD as USB stick was awkward.
* Needed to enable Serial Port in XP after booting through Device Manager.
* Plugged in a USB stick with F5 abs image and Flash Tool on it.
* Needed to run config.bat within the Flash Tool folder otherwise STB error again.
* Flashed successfully and box back.

Still wrestling with no network but will investigate further.

Glad it worked...:beguiled:
What was the no network issue?

Turned out to not be a network issue. In the past I used the YouTube app to see if network was ok. Even with the latest firmware that supposedly has a fix for YouTube doesn't work.

Tested with the weather app and all fine.
