VW NEC Dash read problem

I have problem reading the NEC 70f3424 and 70f3426 processor found in the new VW's dashboards.


I'm using SMOK J-Tag interface, everything is conected properly, but it cannot
unsecure the processor and read it.


Can those dashes be read, or is it imposible with any programmer??

No way to read NEC processors in VDO dashboards. In MM dashboards, yes.

They blocked all developments interfaces.

The NEC mcu simply has read/write 'disabled'.
In theory there could be some hardware trick to bypass security (like with Micronas mcu) but I never seen or heard about this.
So the only solution for now is to unlock the cluster using UDS commands and then read flash using UDS commands.
