I have made the mistake in trying mileage correction by FVDI

On MERCEDES SLS 63 2013

now the car cannot start with the start button ... it starts with they key in EZS on back of console thats a good part

And check engine light came up


BEFORE I TRY MILEAGE CORRECTION I SCANNED THE CAR AS SLS W197 2010-
USING FVDI AND IT SHOWED UP ALL DTC NORMALLY AND CONNECTED TO WHOLE MODULES

NOW WHEN I SCAN IT ONLY CONNECTS TO CENTRAL GATEWAY WITH NO DTC


PLEASE FIRST I AM UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM BUT I THINK ITS ASSYST PROBLEM

you have fluffed up the front SAM mate
either take it out and erase it
or code it back in with star

there is a recovery method on orig AVDI

Good luck.........But I still do NOT understand why would someone do that after asking in different topic and still do it your way...... Be careful because with STAR you can kill it completely if you don't know what you are doing ....

thank you all for helpin out ... after i did some searches beside your helpfull kind disscusion

i saw that coding again is the solution but in here the dealer is a lot expensive option ... so i managed to arrange maxisys autel after i saw that it is able to do online coding on some youtube videos but didnt test yet .


Beside this in diagprog guide to mercedes recaliibration says :

Resolving troubles : when programming process brake (because of car battery)
- communication will beginfrom the same point in next programmation
 if on next programmation is no communication with the car is necessary to disconnectboth car batteries (front and rear) , connect again and return to the car programmation all times after programmation is necessary to erase DTC's in the car.Warning !!! DiagProg III user can't program other cars until car with broken programmationwill be finished ! In case of programming new car all backups may be lost !Sometimes car battery have to be disconnected for few minutes (cars equipped with more thanone battery need to disconnect all additional batteries).


MY question now , i located the battery big one in the front right motor side but i need your help in finding the second battery , i am unable to find it i already checked trunk and front . is there any way with picture please?

Find someone with avdi or dp an repeat procrdure with flashing again. FVDI write new flash in to gateway-instaling software can blocker. Naw gateway is dead and you dont have comunication. Try again to change km (reflash gateway). Other way is to find bacup flash and to whrite back. Try. Online coding is next solution.

First, if the battery in the front is a big one then there's no secondary battery. Second, you cannot use the Diagprog to fix it as you did not do the programming with it in the first place (=no file saved). Indeed Diagprog can continue programming where it left off in case it times out... which was not the case before. Also, if your engine fan is not spinning fast, your turn signals work for example, it means the xentry can still communicate and reflash the gateway. I always do programming and scn coding online so I wouldn't be able to help you with doing it offline.
But one advice though: if you wanna play with expensive cars like that, (aside the knowledge and experience) you need to have 1) the proper tools- I mean the real deal- not some chinese clones, 2) the money to cover the cost of replacement parts if damaged beyond repair, 3) the connections at the dealerships to have them fix it through the back door... because in many countries they would (red) flag the car and void the warranty if they find out there was some manipulations. They always call an engineer when something's suspicious with an AMG.

Yes its logic ..but while messing in front sam fuses i took out thre fuses randomly then put it back then tried start with start button the car clicked just once thats why i am trying to locate second auxilliary battery to remove but cannot find .... and finding someone with avdi is difficult here my freind i am the only i know even with fvdi ... ... thank you

Hello mates todays update

I took out all clips on front sam with battery disconected main one since didnt find the auxilliary then connected back ...took out all fuses and some relays not all and put back ... then connected battery nothing its the same ....so i left battery connected and took out a red wire clipped into the back of the sam with ignition on ... then ignition of and on .....

And all car came back to normal stat window automatic up and down and brake lights JUST 2 or 3 seconds and bye bye again same problem .... no window automatic no start button just airbag warning on dash ...tomorrow will go with the car to a place they have Star online coding and see what will help there

You need to rewrite getway, put original flash. Flash has been corrupted.
Search forum for better answers. This happened to me before and had to rewrite gateway, I used autologic

post eeprom and flash from ZGW , SAM module which you was read with avdi , and the part number

then after repair you need to take out SAM and do it with upa or xprog

did you use original AVDI , or ?

It works for a few seconds until each module does not get the proper CAN information and they shut down again. As long as the Star/Xentry can communicate with the gateway you're good, it can be reflashed online. If not you will have to take it apart and manually rewrite the eeprom and flash back into the MCU.

Second battery and Auxiliary battery is not the same thing. The auxiliary battery powers in some MB just the ISM for example like in W212's . MB cars with 2 batteries are: Start and Convenience batteries (like in 2007-2009 W221 models).

today the car went to a dealer with auto-logic , since here in Angola there is no Mercedes dealer SO they said that they can do it by contacting someone outside to gain access for online programming by auto-logic , ( really i dont know how online Mercedes subscription is)

i think it will take a while till tomorrow or after , i am waiting the results of the reprogramming process since you mates more voted that its programming problem and i am convinced .

hope it goes well and i will be present to tell what happens .

With Autologic you need to get vehicle info and upload to Autologic servers and they send you correct file. Download that into Autologic from Internet and load into vehicle.

is the access to auto-logic files depends on country region or every auto-logic owner can access online autologic servers ?

Must have subscription to access files. And just can't get file , must have car, read from subscribed machine, send to Autologic and install when sent correct file

Ibratex try to do calibration again but this time hook first a good battery booster at list 13v continious en then dont get mileage but set a new mileage and push calibrate then wait and pray to what ever god you believe in it if it doesnt work look for a member hier his name I THINK miniXX HE IS THE RECOVERY zgw specialist he maybe able to help. good luck.

Hello matrs this mecedes vin is WMX1973771A001713 and in maxisys it gives 2001 model ...and vin decoders its 2001 ....but the car is 2013 ... the vin was changed ?

yes talking about FVDI the damage is already done try what i describe and this time only set mileage dont get nothing en look in de maps for the back up maybe you can find some thing fvdi like avdi does this automaticly

great news ,


first the car went to a mercedes especialist with autologic... for 1 day and a half and they said their autologic is not updated and the files are not avaliable


today the car was in the mercedes dealer that i was told that here was no dealer at the end the mercedes have a dealer here

i went there and they use xentry But the xentry couldnot connect to the central gateway they said and it have to be REPLACED by NEW virgin one then they can reprogram the rest ,


inside the dealer i asked the authorization to hook again the fvdi to test if i can continue the mileage correction process as some mates said that i have to go new mileage without get and i did but didn't go well with booster and fixed 13 battery Voltage



so i read the flash and eeprom inside the CGW in attachment 366588

i only did understand that flash is some-kind swapped bytes ... i didn't mess with it even FVDI write function is not supported for flash


so i made a backup the eeprom and ereased all to 00000000000000 then write back AND VOILA ,,,, starts with start button and connects to whole system units and the AC function normally ,,,, but the automatic window slide is not there nor the mirrors close with key or button and inside roof light is not lightning ..... (CODING process i think mates ?? _)




first thank you all from the heart for being beside and hopfully i can get it back


second it was a long trip for me but now i beleive that it had to happen because when i managed to fix the problem not totaly but huge part that satisfise the owner

the Mercedes dealer director asked to talk to me and he said that he can offer a job there and tomorrow we will talk about the rest



thank you mates again ....

now about the windows and mirror is it coding or the eeprom must not be empty

?

tomorrow i will read eeprom again to post new dump that car generated to connect with all units

in the fvdi files i didnt find original eeprom buckup ... no automatic backup found , do you know what folder it should be ?

hhhhh great news nice to see you happy thats wat DK is all about. about the files you can find them in the directory where you installed FVDI you have many files look in one of them you wil find the back up.

I coudlnt find the file mates ... and now another problem


The car have a vin ends with 31 when reading by xentry on all modules ... in the documents the vin ends with 13

So i left the car in mercedes benz representative while they was working on it ....


And then the bad news came ...they called me to go there but i was busy working so i said i will tomorrow then they called the owner saying that the car is not starting anymore and he called me and said that .

Tomorrow i will check what they mean not starting anymore ..

Is it the start button or all of it even in ignition

Did you contact DK member MIN2XX ? he is the ZGW specialist maybe he got a solution for you i think when they tryed to update they corrupted the file.you can try what you deed before to start the car if flash not corrupted.

For the files go to windows startbutton ----surchbutton -----type fvdimercedes maybe you can find the file

Two options: either find a similar gateway files and upload them manually (since you cannot retrieve yours) or get a new one like I said.

hello hass , i took out the 95080 from the bosch unit ecu then changed the dump to 0000 it didnt work , then i put back the same dump i found again to ecu ... the car started normally , now i didnt understand why and how but it is good for now , and all function came back with start button and so on .... and now i am not sure that the car will always be good , there is somthing wrong wrong leting the modules lose comunication hope that dosent happen ,, any one experienced this ?


i found in fvdi option for viginizingg the ecu 95080 this will be next ssolution since now i am not sure it will be good for long

now its not the fvdi problem , now its xentry coz all wat happend now is after xentry flash cgw and update

hass42 i am not sure will be alrigt because i hade the error code
u116000 a bus keepwake unit was detected


and this code as i understood is about temperature status that triggers a pyrofuse somwhere and prevent car from starting

To my knowledge there is no separate N93 (central gateway) on the W197. It's part of the N10/1 (Front SAM). Replace the front SAM and have it programmed by the dealer. Or you can replace it with a used one, the VIN in it will not conflict at all and everything will back to normal. Although I believe you're gonna have hard time finding a used one in your area.
Also, it's very common for a gateway to show no fault but not communicate with the modules. Faults are stored in the eeprom but the running software is in the flash. It is your flash that's corrupted!...and mostly the basic software area. All the sypmtoms and problems you see such as a faulty ECU, windows not working etc etc are due to the gateway. In medical field they call that a referred pain (source is elsewhere than where it's actually felt), the source is the gateway here (built in the SAM) but the pain are felt in the other modules. now you can spend days and weeks trying to fix it or better you can replace it with a new one; and figure out later what happened. By the way, your customer must be a very nice to be so patient.

read last posts i did mentioned the solution ,

again

:

first problem was after fvdi , the car start button didnt work anymore non mirrors non AC non automatic window slide down and up ...no left right sign light or whatever in english

solution was delet the eeprom read by fvdi and do all 00000000000000000 save back to car and the start button and ac came back to normal but still no coding for mirror and windows no camera on backward R


second problem was after puting the car on xentry dealer and they updated the flash with last update they got from server to CGW the car didnt start anymore , non with key no start but all modules window and so on back to normal


tthe solution to second problem was i opened the bosch me9.7 and found 95080 eeprom i made that also 000000000 and tried to start the car nothing happend so i put back the bin i found in there and tried again ,, the car started and came back to normal
