I have started getting the following error:
CHANNEL WRITE BACK FAILED! PLEASE CHECK DISK FREE VOLU
Up until i emptied my memory stick the EPG was updating fine. Since then i have upgraded the firmware to network upgrade one from skybox.cc but i still cannot get the EPG to update. I am using an Openbox V8s box
Could someone tell me what has happened all of a sudden?

have you formatted the memory disk?, try a different usb drive or sd card.
whats it been formatted to (NTFS or fat32)
also whats the date on firmware you upgraded?

The USB i was using was the same one from before so there was no formatting required. The firmware was the updated one which allowed networking capabilities. The cause to my problem according to my understanding was something wrong on the XMLTV providers side.

what box is it?
sometimes the firmware can do that. Your better off putting original back on or trying different firmware. What do you mean by 'networking capabilities'?
I had same issue when updated firmware it would not let me copy the tp list, kept saying corrupt or error. So i just changed the firmware and all was fine.
My box is a clone so I have no idea if that was the cause of the issue.

I have an openbox V8s but this was a problem on the previous firmware where it worked for the last 6 months it was just all of a sudden when it went off. After putting the newest firmware from skybox.cc it gave me the same error but when i tried after a couple of hours the problem was gone and i was able to update.

Could be a xmltv provider problem as another member has report problems with his xmltv EPG here
http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/522636-XLMTV
Edit: That member fixed his issue with a reboot, so it seems it's a different fault.
