I`m planinig to read/write EDC17c19, and I found quite a lot people ask for help to revive EDC17 after flash.

Kindly request you to give some tips on reading/flashing procedure for EDC17 to avoid bricks.

What I found till the moment:

1) Remove ECU form the car - no info about battery should it be connected or disconnection?
2) Do not lock the car prior ECU disconnection
3) Before removal ensure all electrical equipment in the car is off
4) Remove the key from the car
5) Ensure the car is in neutral or parking
6) While ECU Is removed do not try or switch on/off any equipment, open/close doors, lock/unlock car
7) After pry open EDC reconnect and try to start the car before programing
8) Do not flash EEPROM
9) At least do not flash the car with EEPROM read where car is started between read and write - Should this apply for internal flash?

Any tips are appreciated...

No need to disconnect battery, just take key out of ignition, take ecu out, open it, close it back and start car, if all ok proceed reading/writing
In some immo off sollutions or cloning ecu eeprom must be read/write

Car was able to open/close nothing bad can happen then because other module steering function like that, ecu was needed only for engine work.
With some other modules only exchange data, but functions not enabled when ignition is off.
