2010
Silverado 2500

SDM 135672

Sealed Black box

I am using Car prog with a12 adapter

I have lines from module hooked directly to the ALDL connector

Module lines
RD wh to 12volt
D GN to Lan low speed
PK to 12 volts
bk wh to ground

Im not getting any respone for the unit with car prog. I have done plenty of the 99-06 and 07 classic modules this way but this is my first 07 new body style truck.

Any incite would be appreciated.

You cannot read these like that with the a12.

Usually crash can be cleared with scan tool

Thanks for the info. I tried to use tech2win after reading this but its not wanting to communicate. I do have a truck I just got in that when I can get to it im going to try and see what options the tech2 has for clearing the 07 up sdm.

So I have been playing around with this and two other wrecked trucks im rebuilding. 2007 and 2008 silverados. I have tech2win and pay for the SPS Programming Service and have tried just about every factory scan tool option available. So far no luck. In some forum digging i have been reading that people have cut the top of the module to access the chip. Does anyone have any photos or can point me in the right direction for cutting it open. I guess after its open read the chip with carprog as 95020 is kinda what I have been putting together.

Thanks for any help.

If you have carprog then carprog shows you pic on where to solder at the bottom of the box underneath the brown silicone.

The SDM style in the 07 Up trucks is the black Plastic box with the milk plastic colored bottom. This style has two slide lock plugs.

The style you are referring to I use the a12 with carprog and read thru the connector without cutting them open.

I have attached a photo of the style im currently working on.

Right. The style pictured has 9S12 MCU. 95% clear with a regular scan tool. Otherwise you need to remove white plastic from bottom and find pinout diagram for connection points or cut top open. Xprog 5.5 will read and write, carprog will not write
