Explain VW immo system for me

Need help to understand VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda (VAG) immo system.

On old VAG car immo system was 4/5 digit.
On new 2005->> they use
CS
Pin
Mac

And on ecu Simos PCR2.1 I see 2 diffrent Mac?
Why 2 diffrent Mac?
I did change pin and then I get mac2 "0000"?.... Mac1 is ok but not mac2....

If I have a used ecu EDC17/Pcr2.1 can I write my cs/pin/mac in to used and then drive?

yes you can but you need decent tool to read ths data as far as I know only smok can read all data from pcr2.1 if all key lost or you have second hand unit

Both can read immo info

Why 2 mac adress on pcr2.1?

You saw only this in Sm_ke right? Not familiar if the Av_di tool do this? 1 and 2. Need the latest versions to have this option.
There was some member asking about decoding the block, for info. - see link.
When open the standard N_EC+24c32 Imm_oblock Sm_ke in blockEditor you will see MAC1 and MAC_two.
When the other member upload a picture back of this, from another decoding software (Name not visible)
The MAC1 and two, were added together into only one MAC with some swapped numbers.
So not only for PCR2.1.
Could always ask the Sm_ke support. Maybe it is specific for this SW.
