Hi all,
Thinking of getting a dreambox to watch the eng pr*m footy on Hotbird, done a few recievers for c*ble in the past (put into debug, images, ftp files etc) but never a linux sat reciever, are the dream boxes similar in their setup :hmmmm2: how often are the providers hitting the images/files, are they going down weekly, monthly or what :flute:
Any info greatfully recieved :tee:

To open packages to view EPL on hotbird you would need to google cardsharing.. The channels are not open, very few channels on sat open with keys anymore.. The digitv package does on 1W but it has key rolls everyday almost, sometimes twice a day...

Satellite is a lot different from cable, the broadcasters have their encryption pretty much nailed down

OK, thanks for the reply and the info, im surprised that the hackers havent found a way around it yet especally with linux emulating all cams along with the images and au files that they made, will need to think about a digi reciever and card then :boring:

Digitv is moving over to nagra3 so soon it will be off.. The sat dreambox is not designed for patches and keys mate.. Type cardshaing into google to see what the Linux sat receiver is really all about..

Keys and patches dryed up about 18 months ago when providers moved to secure encryption.. A bit like what is happening to cable now.. The reason it used to be open is because NDS employed hackers to crack rival encryptions to make theirs the Market leader.. This has now ceased.. The patch / key has had it's day on sat now buddy
