There is 2 kind of dash one you have to remove needles and its risky and the other one eeprom in the back no need to remove

I am pretty sure in 2010 they start changing their dash with the one that you have to remove needle. those needle are touchy... be careful!
the model that eeprom is in the back is a piece of cake.

btw, many tool are now able to do those via OBD... carprog, smelecom, enigma... just to name 3 of them.
good luck!

ok thanks guys

do any of those tools liek enigma or smeldon cost under 2000 dollars
im guessing most are over 5000

ive got a tool kit which is used for removing car stereos and interior trim stuff
so u use the window winder removal fork for getting under needles and removing then gently
i was mainly worried about if i pull the dial out and break it

ill get the dash and go from there

thanks

if you are looking for cheap via obd, I'm pretty sure carprog will be the cheapest solution.
you buy carprog base+ option for mazda odometer...

but for only one car, do it manually...
and I hate to recommand carprog because a lot of their stuff don't even work and support is really bad. (from my experience at least)

in these pics you'll find the way to reach the eeprom without removing any needle

hey guys
i got the dash and it was pretty easy to remove the needles
they are not very tight on the pins
so once i did that i removed chip and read it was a 93c66

i compared the data and it matched a 2007 mazda 6
so changed the data and it works fine

thanks for the advice
