Hi all I have an old FTA 101 box and been trying to update the firmware on it
without any luck.
Your input would be greatly appreciated.

I sorted the cable its a straight through and not crossover.
My download from computer starts and finishes at 100% as well as progress shown
on the box.

Box then restarts as expected but firmware does not get installed.

when I check in system setup/ system information I keep getting the following
information.

FTA 101
SW ver - 1.00E
Boot ver : 7.0
14.Jun.2005

The box does not seem to flash.
Any advise and help is appreciated from all the tech guys

I have tried all the files in the files section for this box.
It does not even get any channels when I auto scan.

Thanking all the guys for their input

I don't know what it should say in your SW version but did you flash with the latest .bin file dated 01/12/08
when you scanned for channels did you scan on the correct provider for your area.

Is your emu on? To find out carry out instructions below:

1. Press menu - press channel edit - select code.
2. When asked for password enter 1010.
3. Select Nagravison at top right of screen select on.
4. Exit out and leave it on a scrambled channel to update.

It is from memory as I have not used this particular box in quite a while.

Just looking back at your post, can you get channels 1 to 5 on it even with emu off?

satsmo mate this old box is not scaning any channels at all if I am lucky I get tv124 tv126 and only few more after scaning 10 to 15 times but even those channel when put on says no signal. I have tried all the firmwares flashes through to 100% box even restarts but then nothing.
I need at least one box working as my super usb 4 is a dead wait clone unless you good guys come up with a solution for flashing back super usb 4 box.
many thanks for all the advise provided by this great forum

I had the same problem, my box wouldn't scan anything, both auto and manual left no channels found. messed about with it for about a month doing all you have described and other combinations I'd dreamt up with no joy got very annoyed so decided to just replaced it. New box arrived and fresh outa the box all channels popped up and all is fine.
On another forum I was told that when the tuner goes on the old FTeeAone0! box they tend to 'lose' channels. hope this helps maybe.

As natas said if the tuner has gone that may be your problem. But given the scanning info you have posted it looks like a cable/signal problem. Do you have a working subbed (VM) box or other box and is it on the same coax feed?

When scanning make sure to do it from the main incoming feed. If you are using a splitter please take it out for the initial scan. If the problem still persists try a booster as it looks like a weak signal fault.

As said the FTA101 is quite an old box, but it does the job when working.
