What programmer to buy?

New to the scene and looking for recommendations on what programmer to buy. Price limit would be $2000. I have experience with soldering and dumping/writing nands but would rather not have to do that. I was thinking of getting the DigiProg 3 but I don't see Silverado's on the list (looking to program a 2012 Silverado). For vehicles not supported is there a reader to manually edit the file on a pc?
