Just after DPF off check if ecu shows fault codes about not DPF related issues - remove some plugs in engine compartment and check for DTC's.
The same do about limp modes.

It is possible to do those Volvos DPF off with sensors disconnected and all diagnostics + protection modes working as from factory without DPF and sensors, but it is neither free nor cheap solution.
