Hey folks,

The sat nav dvd in my Saab 9-3 is from 2005 and is kinda out of date.

Anyone know where I can download a later DVD? Rapidshare preferably but torrents are ok too. PM please if it's torrents.

should`nt be any aslong as both are dvd units.

I've not physically checked but from what I have read, 2005 models and onwards have a Denso unit. Pre-2005 have a Kenwood unit which is not so good. Denso dvds do not work in Kenwood units.

Which is good for me. :)

Just need to buy a dual layer dvd to burn this sucker now. ;)

It's actually the SDAL 2008 navigation disc for the Mazda 6 system which apparently works with the Saab 9-3 (as you posted above).

I downloaded it from newsgroups and uploaded to RS.

Hi have the 2005 version and it already have postcodes andd street numbers. But only in major cities (and not every numbers). It works very well thought.

I'm not sure about the years though, I think this one is for the Panasonic models, not Denso.

I had 9 corrupted files. I downloaded them again and they worked fine. Something happened in the download or unpacking process.
Bottom line, ALL the files are ok.
I already burned the DVD.

I used a Memorex disc and I'm having problems with the car dvd unit reading the disc. Sometimes it read, sometimes don't. I have to try a Verbatin one.

At least one user made the navigation work. I have 3 images. Wich image do you burn/use? I apreciate a answer please.

I have tried the SDAL version with my 2007 9-3 but it doesn't work. I extracted the old disk and the file types and folder structure is completely different. The files in the root folder all have .KWI extensions. Can't find anything that tells me what type it is. Any ideas.

Afraid not - it is for earlier Saab Nav units pre-touchscreen.

Hi all,

Could someone please explain how I do this, I have downloaded all 55 files and alcohol 120%, a friend said use winrar and right click on the first file and select extract files but what do I do after that, the extracted files are over 6gb and wont fit on a 4.7 gb dvd anyway do I need to compress it at all.

Any help would be musc appreciated as i have just bought my 06 reg 93 vector sport with no nav disc :mad: and begrudge paying a couple of hundred quid to a main dealer for one.

Try to re-download the parts that didint work for you, in this case 15,25,52.

And here comes another question, does is matter if its a Double layer or Dual layer dvd-rom??

Hi, downloaded files parts 1 to 6 thanks, but put them on a single-sided DVD - guess that's why it didn't work. Interested in a newer version (isn't everyone?) if it's available. I'm a bit of a computer 'dinosaur' - so here's a silly question, "Does my DVD recorder write the necessary disks or do I need a new bit of kit if I have to record double-sided?" If the files in question are only 600MB then why does it need to be on a double-sided DVD anyway?

Unfortunately my 56 Sportwagon SatNav wouldn't recognise the disc. Downloaded & burned ok, will try a different DVD manufacturer and get back

I'm sure the 2008/2009 disc (which the links in the first page are for) is the latest one available.

You can check the navteq website to check.

I have a 9-3 late 2006 model. Does this disk work in this model?

Having done some research, it's suggested this disc goes up to the 2006 model.

hi people - have now got image burnt to disc but the file format is complety different to existing disc - I have a '57' mazda6 mps with sat nav the disc is navteq and has denso on it - any thoughts?

the file format on original disc is .kiwi ????

when burnt disc is put in i get 'the disc installed is not a map dvd'

dont really want to run the update because that only says to run if 'Use the update only, if the navigation system indicates that a wrong data base version is present. Although there only 6 MT is on DVD burns. No CD use! Low speed stop'

How do I download the .txt file? I receive an error msg sayng I do not have permission.

I've downloaded the discs from the OP and other links throughout this thread but I'm not sure if they are older discs than you think. WE_06Q4. Is this not 2006 Quater 4? I'm trying to get hold of one for my mates 55 93. He bought it as a repo and there is no disc in it. If I burn this disc it says it is too old. So there must be a later disc that this car has had at some stage.

Easiest thing is to call the dealer and check with them but i`m sure 2006 is the latest or so i was led to believe

Thanks for the reply. I suggested to him to plug the car in and see if there is any info on what disc has been used. I will also suggest that he contact the dealer to see if he can get any further info. I'll post again when he has more info. He may decide to buy the disc so I will make a backup for safe keeping if he does.
