Universal RENAULT injection ECU decoding tool schematic

Decoder has several
modes of operation and covers all known petrol and diesel injection systems,
introduced in range of year 1994-2001 without intervention in to the ECU
(diesel coded anti-start valve as well).

it's not verry strong this tool.it's remplace immo repair of immokiller on some renault cars.
this tool was developped by an engineer of codecard.
Universal decoding tool for Renault fuel injection ECU (http://www.codecard.lt/immo/renault/universal-decoding-tool-for-renault-fuel-injection-ecu/prod_24.html).
the price was 1500euros was changed to 200euros.

Do you have fuse bits ?

Any news ? can the MCU just be simply programmed or the fuse bits are needed?

Awesome!!

Quite a simple looking project.

Might be work getting a few ecu plugs off scrap cars
to make into a 'plug and go' kind of job, no jambing
wires in the wrong place then.

Well done to whoever designed it!.:saint::adore::dancing2::cheer:

Hi, I have just made this tool. There is one mistake on the PCB connected with RESET of the Atmega. It seem to work but very slowly. In advanced mode 2 the led is blinkking very slow and the whole device is slow, I compared it with my friend device. Now I am trying to clean immo from Laguna 2.0 fenix 5 ECU and the device has been working for 13 hours and still see no end. Has anyone tried to make it as well?
Regards Rafal.

bochen (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/members/57401-bochen/) can you please give some instructions on writing the Atmega? It would be great to know the fusebits.

Thanks.

In the archiwe there were no instructions about fuse bits, so I did not programm any. I just programmed the flash content. That's all.

p.s It's almost 22 hrs and the device is still working.

I am sure that some fuse bits must be programmedbut im not familiar with the AVR microcontrollers. We must be aided with the fuse bits.

Hello ,

I have a lil bit of problems. The MCU i have is an ATmega 16L , is this compatible with the one in the schematics ?

Also i have problem programing the chip.

-Using Upa-Usb i don't know how to connect the Quartz , just solder it onto pins 7 and 8 ,then connect using upa instructions? Or i need to have 2 capacitors betwin gnd and the pins?

-Using BeeProg i don't know how to select the Fuse bits because the interface is more complex , also i have to select the oscilator frequency but the maximum there is 8Mhz.

Thank you all and sorry for the noob questions.

Thank you for the replay. I don`t have any programmer that will work with pony prog. Will apply oscilator and capacitors to upa and try to write it.

Thanks.

hi,

No, The max oscilator frequency for mega16L is 8 MHz, in project you must use 16MHz oscilator.... I'm not sure if 16MHz oscilator will work with L devices... it would mean 100% overtacting...

Also i have problem programing the chip.

-Using Upa-Usb i don't know how to connect the Quartz , just solder it onto pins 7 and 8 ,then connect using upa instructions? Or i need to have 2 capacitors betwin gnd and the pins?

You need capacitors.... There are also 3 pins oscilators on market (the capacitors are already integrated in)

-Using BeeProg i don't know how to select the Fuse bits because the interface is more complex , also i have to select the oscilator frequency but the maximum there is 8Mhz.

That's becouse you're using the wrong chip

Speed Grades
? 0 - 8 MHz for ATmega16L
? 0 - 16 MHz for ATmega16

It was witten on the first page of the datashet and i ignored it.

Now will i be able to use this MCU and a 8Mhz quartz to make this project ? Even if it will work 2 times slower?

AWESOME dude, now it's dumb question time

1) Was it ?200 in your hand?
2) How much was postage?
3) VAT?
4) Sent from UK address on package?
5) Would you use them again?
6) You cut the immo pin, and the car starts?
7) What will you be charging each time you use it? Meat-Head Motors would phone ECUtesting.com and get a price of say ?120-?150+vat
We would then say to peasant "If we can do it in house you are looking
?100-?130+vat, if we have to send it away then it will be ?150+vat - ?180+vat keep the unit 4 days (2 days in post 2 days there) and tell the customer it had to be sent away, and
KER-CHING $$$$

NOW it's dumb suggestion time:-

Pop down to nearby car park and hacksaw off ecu multiplug
and put some croc clips, willys and fannys (bullet conectors) on it so you can go, bing bash, bob done

THANKS

No ! It won't work !
The ecu will ignore bad frames (frames with timings / 2)

When ecu is virginised, using Renault tool the ecu accepts first immobiliser signal it gets m8.
