I've never heard that this cars have cold start problems. Maybe problem is in glow plugs or in injectors or in rail pressure sensor? Have you measured compression?

repair starter, change battery and your car will be starting like a new :)

Check starter and battery condition... this is typical problem in those cars!!!

you can check rpm at starting, last car i repaired has 75RPM at start
