Hello mates ...

In a mercedes dealer they ask me somtimes to do work for them ...

This time they have ml w164 with vin number on chassi that is diffrent from the one shows in DAS diagnostic

So they installet new ecu and zgw ism etc... all virgin to get the chassi right number ....

So they coded all new but ISM is not connecting in diagnostics ...they said when they did ecu and zgw ezs adaption the ISM was disconnected ....

So ... since ISM in new kit is not connecting to put in initializing mode

I want to know what should i do

Virginize ecu or zgw ? Then cod again to right variants ? Is it wrong variant mode chosen by them? Or what do i need to do to get it connected ?

And for info ..the old kit connects all normally and start normally ....

Please i would appreciate any advice to start my work tomorrow morning

Thank you in advance

Can't you just renew the ISM and then program and code in the car.

What actual values do you see in Xentry? Check coding in ZGW.
If you connect the ISM on bench you should be able to connect to it directly. Did you try this?

Can you use the old ZGW in place of the new one to try to connect to the ISM?

Depending on what tools you have you can read/write the eeprom of the ZGW by OBD, so you can make whatever changes you wish. There is no need to virginize the ZGW, you just have to make sure the vin in the ZGW matches the vin in the other units and it should work

yes I think should be possible, but I never used any of these tools with this zgw type. I always do it by obd
