My wireless router constantly disconnects every 10minutes and then comes back and this process is repeated through out the whole day. It effects all laptops and sources of the internet my router is a Belkin ADSL +2 model = F5D7633. More details here Belkin : ADSL2+ Modem with Wireless-G Router (http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=197322)

Does router loose signal ? (ADSL sync) Check ADSL light, filters , cables, try the router in master socket if its on secondary telephone sockets.
Does router loose power and disconnect and restarts itself ? ( Check electric cabling )

Does router running too hot and disconnects?

Have you tried resetting the router and or see if there is an updated firmware ?

Is it always 10min dead on that router disconnects?

Basically you have to minimize the possible error list. What we have to find is , is it loosing adsl connection , could it be your router or your ISP , or is it a hardware problem with the router. You can try a friends router if you can to see if its the router problem.

No it doesn't not lose signal but the globe light turns off then the telephone light flashes turns solid and then the globe does the same. I am positive its not the electric cabling because i have moved it to different telephone sockets all over the house yet the problem continues and the channel it runs on is Auto also it is differently not the isp as i sometimes choose to ditch wireless to use a BT modem and that works perfectly. The signal of the wireless doesn't go but when you try to connect there's no connection so you have to wait for it to restart and its not all ways 10min exact it varies from 10-20mins some times every 5mins not very consistent. Hope this bit of info helps.

Try a channel such as 13 or something.

Or try netstumbler and check any other AP's channels, and avoid using the same as them.

Put it this way. Like i said you have to minimise the list of possible problems.

If the wireless light is on and internet light flashes then turns green it means router lost adsl signal and then resynced.

If the wireless light turns red but internet light is green it means wireless ap in router has a problem.

If all lights flash or missing then one by one comes back on it means router is rebooting due to whatever is the cause.
I would first get a cat5e or cat6 cable and connect to router via a ethernet to see if its really a wireless problem and then take it from there.

The router loses sync as you correctly stated the internet light does flash and then turns stable. Also i have used a BT modem and there's no problem so surely its something to do with the modem?

Have you try reset the router , or try reflashing the firmware, if it still doesnt help and bt router works fine then i assume router is gone bad.

1.reset router.
2.use setup cd and setup security use WPA2 and Firewalls
3.update firmware

look underneath to see what version you have

use gigabit/ethernet when installing firmware it will disconnect on wireless.

before installing make sure you have the correct version of firmware.

Version 1

Version 6

Version 7 (they have only have a beta Firmware for this version but it resloves connectivity issues)

http://www.belkin.com/au/support/article/?lid=ena&pid=f5d7633au4a&aid=6431&scid=0&fid=4343&fn=f5d7633au-4v7_fwui_tpg_issue.bin

then configure your other network devices laptops etc to your network key and you should be all sorted.

if you enabing mac filtering let the computer in the network first and have the have the address in the list before turning on.
