OK, I now have a BDM100 interface to read my SID803A but it didn't come with a connector to suit. I can solder wires to the pads on the ECU board. But does anyone know which pins on the BDM go to which pads on the ECU? I have a pic of the ECU here Bild:SID 803A.jpg - OBD-Wiki (http://wiki.obdtuning.com/?title=Bild:SID_803A.jpg)
Does pin 1 on the ribbon just go to pad 1 on the ECU etc...?

Thanks.

Yes, that shows where the pads on the ECU are but I do not have the small board with the pins. I can solder wires to the pads but don't know which wire to which pad.

nice... that theory was posted by me last year on eurovan2 forum when I bought my C5 1.6HDI FAP and had to solve the FAP problems...
my problems was simple just: FAP washing + Eolys refill and additive computer reset and all was ok.

To be sure that FAP will complete each regeneration properly I developed a device that signal regeneration phase on HDI engines so no more problems:
Sensor Regeneration FAP & Turbo temperature (http://www.phones-direct.ro/public/fapsensor/index-uk.html)

In the meantime I study a different approach of FAP removal:
if anybody with Lexia have access to PSA engines with no FAP: DV6, DW10, DW12 and can make a print of BSI & ECU configuration settings will be great to complete my study.

thx
Hello,

Hello,

I'm also having problem after flashing my C5 1.6 HDI. After flashing, i get Engine Management system faiulrem, ESP / ASR failure, and the "Risk of particle filter blocking" message is still there.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Here are my files in case anybody could check if there's something wrong with them.

Now I'm stuck in limp mode with the Engine Management / ESR / ASR fault, even after flashing back the original ECU file.

Before flashing, I only occasionaly went to limp mode, and never got the ESP fault. I understand that flashing a modified ECU file could cause problems, but why is the problem still there when flashing back the original file?

I didn't find my car in EODB2 software list, so I flashed with EDC16+ as the main choice, but without selecting a specific car. Could this be the problem?

(...).?
Did you tried to diagnose the car after flashing back? Dlette DTCs and so on?

nPersp
3rd March, 2011, 05:41 PM
No, I don't have any tools for this. I just have the Galletto 1260.

To be honest, I'm just a newbie who wanted to get rid of some very annoying DPF problems which have already cost me over ?1000. But I should probably have left this to the experts... I'm starting to panic, need my car for a 500km drive on sunday, and at the moment it just won't leave limp mode.

nPersp
3rd March, 2011, 05:54 PM
Maybe it helps if I explain in detail what i did:

I hooked up the Galletto and started the software. From the Select Maker menu i chose Citroen. Then for the Select Driver i chose EDC16+. I didn't find my car in the list (only Peugeots there) but I knew my ECU was an EDC16+ so I proceeded without choosing a car. Maybe this could have caused the problem?

Anyway, I switched on the ignition, read the ECU file and saved the original. Then i made a copy of it, and modified it in EcuSafe to remove DPF. Loaded the modified file back into the Galletto software, switched on the ignition and wrote the file back. Followed the instructions after flashing (10 sec ignition off then on etc).

When I started the car, everything is OK for the first second. Then the "service" light come on, and I get the message "Engine management system fault". THen the ESP warning lights up, and i get the ESP / ASR fault message. Finally, I get the "Risk of particle filter clogging" message. The car is stuck in limp mode.

Since the modified file didn't work, I tried writing back the saved original file. This gave the same result. I ahev enclosed the files in an earlier post.

I'm wondering if there could be a problem with checksums or something, especially since I couldn't choose my car model from the list in the driver selection window. Should I try with one of the Peugeots in the list, or di you think this will ruin everything even more?

citronel

I think you have to go to Lexia diagnose and check ECU configuration and injector programming.

nPersp
3rd March, 2011, 06:51 PM
Thanks, maybe I just need to turn it over to the dealer to have the reprogram the ECU. Guess it's pretty hard to find someone else with a Lexia here in Norway...

Rossoelab, can i ask what you did different when you got it working? I think my problem is quite similar to yours.

soundnavigator
3rd March, 2011, 10:15 PM
No, after programming, you had to wait 3 minutes. If you do not do this and run the engine, you lose to the injectors code. Then need to coding again with PP2000.

Best regards.

nPersp
3rd March, 2011, 10:49 PM
OK, I didn't wait for 3 minutes, so maybe this is what I did wrong then. I waited just the 10 seconds with ignition off, then 10 seconds with ignition on, then started the car.

So if I flash again and wait 3 minutes will it be OK, or do I need to use a PP2000 for the injector codes anyway now that the car is in limp mode?

Nicowico
3rd March, 2011, 11:29 PM
You started the wrong way. Before you updated your Ecu, you had first to remove the Ecu faults with Lexia. After you have removed the Ecu faults you can update your Ecu with the NO Fap Ecu software and after that you have to remove the fap. Good luck.

rossoelab
3rd March, 2011, 11:51 PM

first checks the encoding injectors
Peugeot Citroen and often have this problem ...
if the injectors are ok
go to peugeot (Official lexia) and check that they have not deleted the data in the vehicle engine ECU (downloading)

Went to a Peugeot dealer today (no Citroen dealer nearby). They cleared the fault codes, but the car was still in limp mode. After one test run, two of the fault messages came back: ESP / ASR fault and Risk of particle filter clogging. I haven't seen the Engine Manegement system fault after this.

They said I needed to take the car to a Citroen dealer to get them to load a clean original ECU program. Will try this on Monday. Meanwhile I'm stuck in limp mode.

ah,so ecusafe work fine with your dump
the DTC that you have is normal because you have removing fap physiquely
so; to resolve this probleme aded a resistor 10kohm to differential pressure sensor and erease the dtc
you will see that the dtc never will apear

Hello boys.
I have a doubt.

If you spend the cartography for the ecusafe, the fap remains deactivated and does not regenerate any more?

Or does it continue regenerating?

The egr is annulled also or does not make it the ecusafe?

I do not think that is very different from ecusafe3 and 2.0 especially in the PSA group (mask all foult's codes in ECU ...regenerations....):ciao:

Yes mam ECU safe third Is there a difference in that from it we've done online. Dela there any difference about it is still bad. For EDC16 PSA's limiter switch as crack turbo version. It is horror. EDC17 it still can not.

Psa 1.6 Hdi orginal no fap version :)
I had not just a flash in the car longer to read the full file BDM :)

eucsafe not you suggest to see the structure of fap, car filter is not meant to never, I know of a source of the difference between the version of fap and without a single bit of difference, as is the case in EDC16 1.9 and 2.0 tdi vag,

you can also load full of BDM, and also add immo should just work FAP OFF

you can certainly in vag ppd in the 2.0 140, came out serially fap-free version if I remember correctly Tip 03Gxxxxxx18CE numbers

eduardo74
7th September, 2011, 09:49 PM
maxlulu: I understand that is ok in VAG group, but if I find similar or very "close" software, should be possible to do good fap off on 1.6hdi changing from fap flash to non fap flash?

macxlulu
7th September, 2011, 09:59 PM
yes, but it can not be the same flash file only complete BDM, or find one bit of difference versions with and without fap fap

you can also ECU can be changed from the version without fap

he once swapped so that the ECU ford focus 1.6 tdci :D

few years ago when there was no ecusafe just as we were doing with the PSA group in August EDC15 load the file without fap to the version of fap

eduardo74

Hi all,

First I would like to thanks all the people in this
"Magic" forum for the help and advices provided
during this 'FAP/DPF removal' adventure ;-)

I have done a successfull ECU EDC15C2 flashing
with physical FAP/DPF removal last september/october.

All is okay now but when I diag the car I still have
a permanent fault (catalytic converter related)
and from time to time an "Anti pollution error"
message which goes away few restart/ignitions later ...
the limp mode gets on when I have the antipollution message but then goes away when the "Antipollution error"
goes away too...

I have no power loss or degraded mode all is running
properly apart from that.

Is there a way to get rid of this error (each time I diag):

"Permanent fault , catalytic converter upstream temperature signal , Short- circuit to positive or circuit open ."

If I clear the error code it comes back again immediately
after (without limp or antipollution error)

Best Regards & Thanks for taking the time to read.

Hi
No, the filter stills in place... the anti pollution message appears on the screen, but in the ecu there is no more dtc for that...
I am know awaiting for the accelerator pedal, when the anti pollution pop up in the ecu appears errors for pedal, despite the fact that I have measured the pedal and all values look ok...
When the message comes the accelerator start to respond very roughly, and the engine as well... oh, the engine light and esp comes at the same time... I have read somewhere, that in some cars the fap sensors need to be disconnected, otherwise the ecu doesn't know what to do with does values, as the tables for the system no longer exist...
Any ideas?

Hi.

Hi guys...
Update: right, further investigation revealed that something was short, after the dfp removed from the ecu using ecu safe, the anti pollution message keeps showing on the screen, and engine light on, but when diagnosed there is nothing related to the anti pollution, only electrical faults with accelerator.pedal, fuel pressure sensor, turbo boost sensor, all the above with the description, short to ground, or open circuit, and then another one saying power supply to several sensors, and again short to ground or open circuit...
So, this make me believe tba the last fault is common and the cause of all the other ones, and probably the anti pollution one as well... I'am correct?
Later, and with the engine running, I was touching on the cables and plugs around the area where the 4 solenoids are, just behind the radiator, and the engine cut out! Wow! I thought, my problem is somewhere around here, I started the engine again touch the area and engine of again... well, after about an hour investigating I couldn't find nothing, but I have unplugged and plugged back everything in that area.... went for a spin and it took much longer for the engine light and message to came on, and even after that the car seems to run just fine, before, the car used to become irresponsive, erratic acceleration, and engine misfire...
Will diagnose again, curious to see what is there now, but in the mean time, any one have an idea about this kind of problem?

I do understand, (an you should as well), that some people here worked hard to find for solutions, repairs etc, and I don't blaim them if they ask for money when someone wants the "plate served ready"... however, I do not believe that members here would refuse to help you on what they can...

hi all,
I have a Peugeot 406 2.2hdi EDC15 year 02/2001.
I have a probleme with DPF '' Anomalie Additif Gasoil '' since 5 day without any problem of the engine, speed is good.
With Multidiag he tell me that is impossible to communicate with the ADDGO, and low additif.
If i use Ecudafe tu remove DFP from the calculator and bsi ,and remove it phisicly, can you tell me if the DFP indication in the OBD desappear.
Thanks

I am hopfully just about to change the ecu file on my citroen c5 2.2 hdi 2002
I have had the file changed but was wondering if someone could check both original file and new file to make sure its correct before i do it.
also assuming its ok and i put it on the car will i be ok then? no faults? Will the additive still be used and eventually run out causing an error?
I would love to be able to speak to someone on the phone who can change files on here so i can make sure i do everything in the right order. I am using kwp2000+ to change file.
Also how would i attach file to be checked?
thanks in advance
I am in the Uk, scotland

I do not think that is totally for shore !
i have now a C5 2.2 edc15 c2 that start to give a lot of DTC"s !
and the DPF off was made at 5 or 6 month"s ago !
now it always boost overload !

Smac_a

Why do you think boost has something to do with dpf off? Turbo maps should stay the same (mine did). Check your turbo solenoid valve, variable turbo and pipes in general. fap -wtf?

Hehehe ... the Ecusafe and Volta are the best programs. If you want to throw your car in rubbish, then use the car as guinea pigs. If you not want this, find a really good solution even for small money. I do not encourage trade in this forum, only tryed to save someone from harm.
