EGR OFF GOOD OR BAD

I am new in chip tuning field my job in immobolizer
my own car captiva 2.0d vcdi 2011 4x4 make 6.5km/L this is so much normal captiva do 9-10km/l
If we make EGR OFF fuel economy wil be good or not ?

will have little bit difference but not +xx wil be small 0.x something .
Like all the car will get the warm little bit slow .
But if not have problem not touch it ...
