I did one... however there was no option to program the remote with AVDI... car started fine though using all codes from 3D....

You have to press button on remote while switching on ignition 😜Worked for

Does it have to be a brand new remote? With mine the customer had existing remote (which stopped working after programming new transponder...)

Brand new remote don't precode the chip just program it in and should work mate I've done quiet a few got one on Tuesday

ps remotes are cheaper from porsche than 3D

Update on job
Went to vehicle and used AVDI but at first failed as no communication with PAS module and noticed instrument cluster had gone off and no alarm blaring .
Decided to lock car up and open again so cluster would come on then turned lights on and radio to keep vehicle awake and this time job done with AVDI procedure took about 5 mins on all keys lost .
Thumbs up to AVDI on this one .

Did you have to use the dealer teach in codes?
Thanks in advance,
Tim

Can this be done with non precoded keys? I.E Abrites precodes key?

Also in some cases where the remote stops working, if it gets repaired, any way to resync it?

Hello
I just used dealer key with dealer codes supplied by customer but 3d in uk can supply these also

I have done Porsche Boxster 2011 ID46 spare key and car went dead after the "successful" learning.

Key from 3D, codes from 3D, no errors during procedure - car was fully working before.

All I have now, only remote is working on the new key. No ignition, no starting - recovered to the garage.

Has anyone heard about similar issue during key learning?

Dealer said BCM awaiting time is around 45 days.

Would not have been better just to clone the original key since would have been a easy job
Some of these jobs in top class vehicles need to take into considaration if something goes wrong could be a expensive repair did you use a battery support during peogramming .

Hi godfathertwo, normally I would sit down if I know I can trip up :)

Yes I had good battery support...

Maybe some tools can dump it but I dont have one.

Who wants to drive Porsche using non remote key?

Maybe noone
So either charge plenty or take to dealer no worth risking since most tools apart from dealer tools they cannot be safe for high money class vehicles plus 70 percent of tools are not 100 tested including avdi smart pro zedfull if even these tools fail
How much do you need to charge for a spare Remote key to take the risk that why i personally ask if they wont a non remote key if they decline send to dealer provably 1000 pounds .

But dealing with this particular Porsche it shouldn't be a risk. Sometimes things mess up and there's no explanation why. You just do programming which either goes on or do not work. Im talking about Porsche flip keys with barcode. It's strange what happened and no real explanation what caused non runner :/
