Im thinking of getting one of these boxes for cable tv, can someone tell me is they can do the same as a dbox and get all the channels and is there software to do this?

simple answer is yes..

in flash images you can use mgcamd

in enigma 2 images you can use camd3

I thought this IPBox was for sat(unless you add a tuner)? Also, does this connect to public servers like the protek/Nano XX receivers?

I dont think this is a PVR? If it is, then I dont see why you couldnt record one(not two) channel and record another seeing as though there are two DVB slots

All the ABCom HD Boxes have pluggable tuner,so you can change them to digital terrestrial , satellite or cable tuner.

It is a PVR , because you can record on disk (internal Sata or USB)

Just wondering can this work like the protek 9600ip and connect to free public servers? Also, according to dr. Dish it "can handle IPTV" What do they mean by that? Surely no box is able to "handle" IPTV?

yes you can. on both images (dgs/enimga2).. you can also with the latest image r11102 stream one channel and watch another!!

enigma2 is rock stable now on ipbox.. so why pay twice the price for a dm8000 ??

How many SD channels can you record with CubeRevo IPbox 9000HD at the same time if the channels are on the same mux? is it only 2 or can it do more with 3party software?

Now that's an overstatement right there... :)

Rock stable?? I guess you don't watch much encrypted DVB-S2 HD channels, do you? :)
