I have bought a dreambox 500c from www.linuxsat.co.uk (http://www.linuxsat.co.uk)

and I can't get it to work!

I have emailed them and all I got was i will need to load a new image on the box.

I don't really no what or how I would do this? I am not a very tecnical kind of person but if someone could expain what and how I could do this very simple way I would be very very gratefull

Start from here -> http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f34/guide-flashing-dreambox-dreamup-33/

The image you need is here -> Digital Kaos - Downloads - Digital Kaos v1.1 Image for Dm500 C/S/T (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/images/2/digital-kaos-v1-1-image-dm500-c-s-t-312/)

Then after all is done come back and sort out how to connect the box from the PC.

Just read up the red stickies and you should be ok.

I am now trying to buy a null modem cable, but on my lap top I only have a 15 pin female point.

Can I buy a USB to 9 pin null modem cable?

Just an update, I have managed to flash my box and I have done a bruteforce scan, and it has found all the channels but the only ones I get a picture on are the free channels such as BBC 1 Itv etc.

Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong?

If using a USB to 9pin male i suggest you use a driver from the download section as some people have got the maplins one to work with certain drivers.

EDIT - Just read above posts forget about this one.
