Peugeot 206 S2000-25 immo off or clone

l have a another garage asking me to replace a faulty ecu on peugoet 206 , if l get another secondhand ecu can l just swap eeproms
l read on another forum of member leaving eeprom out and car runs fine ?

yes this is s2000 Ecu is filled with ruber compound (maybe silicon) here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LIAVUFeY0U but keep you in mind its 3 types of these ecu. eeprom is locatet diferently

and how you do to remove this ruber ? i saw some only cut the location where they will work on, and i have see another put the ecu in a liquid i think isopropyl alcohol

I carefully remove rubber in location where i will work on. This completely removing he making for delaborate (reverse engenering) or to repair it... Dont forget CAREFULY to pcb. This job is good razzor blade, cuting slowly and near by pcb with wood tool toothpig or something bambus (bamboo wood? ) sharpened end...

would anyone know if there is a problem if l fitted same unit with all the same numbers and it came from a manual and this car is an automatic ? ie software map would be different ?
seller l found dosnt know if ecu is from manual or auto

You must try it, i think it?s ok, but if no, remove immo from new ecu(eeprom) and fit to new ecu. Or comlete reprogram with eprom and flash if anyway.

Manual or Auto configuration is by one byte setting in the eep unless the sw package has been particularly made for a single transmission then the option is n/a on DiagBox. Usually cloning eep would also take the correct setting. But sw ID on the label could be outdated, if post both eep then they can be told.

I attach for anyone S2000-25 IMMO OFF file tested for years just in case you need to make the ecu immo offed.

You have to replace the eprom with a new one and write the file I attach in the new one.

That's all. No problems, no need codyfing, no errors, no nothing, start your engine and ride.
