Is this normal

When I turn on my dream box I can get a black screen for up to 10 minutes, but other times it can clear in seconds. Am i doing something wrong?

could be a TV issue, maybe the input for the dreambox isnt kicking in right away ( are you using a scart lead ) .

also put onto a free channel then re start the box, see if a free channel clears straight away. ?

Yeah I am using a Scart lead, and its the same for all channels, whether they are FTA or not. Its a little odd? Also I can hear sound immediately

Have you tried hooking upto another tv via scart? Or using another scart socket on the same tv, if possible?

also replace the scart lead with the video leads ( red,white,yellow) leads

that might do the trick.

also check all your settings for dreambox, it might be something stupid like its doing a scan or a hard drive check or trying to do an EPG scan or something on startup
