i know how to do the odometer change but the problem is the chip is too small so i need a way to weld the wires on the board instead of the eeprom

Read in circuit to 3.3 volt,if you can liftup pin 8 VCC, So you do not "wake up" the processor.

this model can be done by eeprom not processor. the only problem is its very small and dont have an adapter. even smaller than new subarus. i just need a way to solder wires on to the board and if anyone knows a way to do so.

Qute simple. Using a fine tip, solder to pins 1,4,5,8. Trace the tracks from pins 2 and 3 back. If you can't find points to solder to, scrape the tracks to bare copper where you are comfortable to solder to. When finished, buy yourself a zif socket or programming boards as this will not be the only one you will see. Arthur.

I just did one on Saturday trace the tracks points with a voltmeter and weld in different spots not in eeprom

Wow wisdom in the making why didnt I think of that? lol

SO question when you trace do you find the closest soldering point period? what if it goes thru other compenents? I think I already know the answer but hey what the hell.
Also from a programming point of view which is safer soldeing to points, soic clip or probe clip grabber thingys?

I feel like number 5 "Need more input" lol

If you don't have an adapter, solder to chip legs with Kynar wire (30awg) on the ends of you cable.
