View Full Version : Important help EDC17CP20

Hi all,

I read with tricore Audi a5 edc17CP20 read ALL.
I flash the modded file and close the ecu without the screws.

I start the car everything is ok. But when the car start i close the screws, and the car is going off.
Car has started one time and the second time don't start.

I can't read with fgtech, when i insert the boot pins and give voltage on ecu, fgtech power light goes off (light is low)
When i unplug the boot pin on ecu, the light is on (light is HIGH)

What can i do ? Can i insert another ecu with EDC17CP20 and flash tricore all, goes the car starts ?

Hey Mate, Big problem have you got..
There are just two way, one is to find another ecu and write the backup that you made before as you want to clone for example, but just if you have a complete backup..
the second way is to find another ecu from the same car then you ca remove the immo and fit the ecu in the car
also you can send your damaged ecu for get fixed

When i get the same engine (this car is Audi A5 2.0TDI 136HP) when i insert Audi A3 2.0TDI 136HP or A4 with antoher ecu number, stil i need do immo off ? Can immo of with tricore or desolder the immo chip ?

yes you need to do Immo Off desoldering the Eprom

desolder processor there is no external eeprom :-) its in processor

do immo off or clone ecu or buy a new one from dealer
but this is not so easy on edc17

Yes Desolder a processor from old one ad solder on new one, I think there is a Immo off throght flash, not sure Never tried but I have a software

I read the eeprom from processor. Can i do immo off with tricore? Write eeprom with immo off? File is 512kbyts i mean that is the immo? Desolder processor is very difficult... But another question.. i found same ecu on ebay with same ecu number and hardware number that begins with 028
Can i insert this in the car or do i need immo off? The ecu is from audi A4 and customer car is A5. All the numbers are same..

Buy a second ECU with the same numbers, read flash and send it to me, I'll take you immo, and you can program flash and the problem solved

But car don't start, starter spinning but car don't start.


I read fault codes and have P2149 fuel injector supply b circuit open.
When i read meassures i see that the fuelpressure must be to 28000KPa. And when i start it comes to 34000KPa (car will almost start) and weakend to 20000KPa.
What is wrong ? I write original write all with tricore.


Do i short circuit on injector cable or is the problem on ecu ? Exit on injector control ?


Please help

Hmmm okey, but i can read write and can make diagnostic every ecu id data is ok ?
When bcp is broken, i think we can't read ecu data or id ? Or i am wrong ?

actually you are wrong ... you can still have comms but ecu don't function properly ... 99% your ecu have problems with pcb damage

Problem solved! Cable from injector was broken (short circuit). Changed the cable and car is started..

It was my fault :( I was fasten the screws on the ecu when car is on (started). My screwdryer makes short circuit with - and + and the car is going off...
I learned, first everything fasten screwed and then you can go to start the car :)

l have a skoda with the same fault code and it was the ecu damaged by water , sometimes its would run for days then just stop ,we changed injection wiring first

Which glue do you use when you opened the ecu to protect it against water?
