2015 X6 info

I have a 2014 BMW X6 to do attached is the dash what it looks like. I need to know if anybody knows what is inside this vehicle Chip in-dash and does it have a CAS4 or Fem ?

If a fem do I just do dash and filter in dash?

I already explained to my customer that it was only going to change value in dash only.

If you have the vehicle then why not open up and see if it has cas?

I do believe, but I don't find chip in dash that can filter says it should have. Do you know where to put filter in dash?

This should be a E71 or F86..is it a 2014 or a 2015?

Also I finished with filter in cluster and dash is blank. I can get display to show if I press trip button and corrected miles shows.

Did I have to remove can dossel or leave it in and solder to legs?

I didn't see CAS4 and I didn't look for Fem ... So I installed blocker in dash.
And I installed wrong, because dash doesn't power up. Only way anything shows is when I press trip button

It has BDC, looks exactly the same as FEM, but is called BDC (body domain controller) in this car...

The filter you installed is not good for this type of car and it blocks the commands to the dash, therfore the dash does not know the switch is ON. It only works with BAT.
You should use other type of filter.

Hi mate

You have to desolder the thing and then you solder your 4 wires to pads. Also what filter you used?

I did an x5 2014 it had no cas no fem so i put filter on dash. Do not replace 160dq or you will get red dot on dash.

You probably connected filter wrong hence your dash is dead. Solder back original component and try. It should work.

I used this type of filter and I did desolder it. I used connection supplied to me by digatech earlier in this post.

Relocate that resistor top right mark 121 to the left and try. maybe it would of work better with the v5 filter that's out there :hmmmm:

let him do it if he wants.. Like he said, he told his customer it's only gonna be changed in dash. So it's not his problem.. If your customer asks you to paint the car pink, then you buy pink paint, spray the car, take the money and thanks him for the job.

You might be the first one to actually attempt to do a F86 :top:
Wish I had more ideas as to why it isn't working.. but I am out of ideas atm.

I just found this and it says 12v, and I had it on 5v

I know it says F15 but thats exactly what I have.

I tried with 12v and still dead. I put vehicle back together and gave customer back vehicle at original state.

Told him to wait til I get more info on this and maybe better filter.

as mentioned before, there is a high probability you installed a filter witch doesn't work on those BDC (it's not an FEM therefore chances are high that blocker must be different).
diagprog sells a different cangateway for BDC type bmw... just to support that theory.
so order a good can filter, which is able to do at least those F15 and cross fingers I guess!

only good for bmw after 2014 year is gecko can blocker, for me chines filter in bmw make after two days problems buy gecko...... good luck

the v5 filter is diffferent. i also think v5 filter is better for this bmw
