Hello DK-

Has anyone been able to clear these older Ford mods with a MAC? I can get rid of the crash, but not the U3000.... Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Attaching the file (read with CarProg).

Thx!

B0052 - Passenger safety belt sensor
B00B5 - Driver seat track position restrains sensor
U0100 - Lost communication with engine/powertrain control module
U0154 - Lost communication with restrains occupancy classification system module
U0155 - Lost communication with instrument cluster control module
B0090 - Left frontal restraints sensor
B0095 - Right frontal restraints sensor
B0091 - Left side restraints sensor 1
B0097 - Right side restraints sensor 1
B0096 - Right side restraints sensor 2
B0092 - Left side restraints sensor 2

Don't see problem clear DTC with carprog. Never happened U3000. I think problem with dump.

You may get u3000 code reading on bench. Also means incorrect component installed. Can be triggered by no components being plugged into module

Well, this is a long story - orig module from car I wrote too many times with CarProg and locked up. I tried recovering the flash with SMOK but their MAC soft is messed up and can't write anymore (ver 1.40.6.3). So I got a used module, which YES, showed the U3000 when connected to my car, however I assumed it was because of wrong component configuration......

But maybe the used module is fried inside, and hence the U3000???

What other tools can WRITE the flash of a MAC 7242? I need to get new tool... SMOK... is gone in smoke for this processor...

I will try again with another core - including the file from mahmoudsaq (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/member.php/452209-mahmoudsaq) !

Many thanks for the great help!!!

I used the Macaca programmer from autokey to recover flash on a module that me and carprog bricked together.
Worked great.

Since then I have bought CarProTool. Both great programmers

Perfect. Thanks! Will try the first if still being sold..

Does anyone happen to have a good FLASH dump for the AJ model? I have some dumps from the AK version, but it may not be the same.... A FULL data file would be ideal (flash+shadow+eeprom).

You actually should be able to recover this one with just the data flash or eeprom section of mcu since that's all carprog can touch. Probably even flash original eeprom data back in and carprog can program again

I can reprogram the eeprom with carprog, but module will not boot up... I need to re-write the flash area. I guess it has a timer and only allows up to 6 writes..
