Hello ,hope someone could give me an idea
I have Megane III Continental tipical ISSUE.
Internal error, caused by a weak battery.
I have solved many times with a file that is working, but it belongs to other car...
So VIN is not ok, it cannot be change with CLIP, only the first its possible!!
I mod Manually VIN but I obtain INTERNAL ERROR
I can use donor file and system works ok, SAVE IT, it can solve problem in this ecu, it is not PASS PROTECTED.
But I dont think its a good idea let the Vin from donor vehicle...even more in case of crash. You KNow what I mean...
So anyone Knows how it can be changed VIN number???
Or how we can correct checksum in this 95640?? Any particular ALGO??
Or only perfect solution is to use 100% virgin file??

Tried for the first time like you BUT IT IS NOT WORKING
AT LEAST IN THIS PARTICULAR DUMP
But thanks anyway

IN fact, the common problem in this modules is when battery is weak, some bit could ba changed accidentally when ignition ON/OFF...
If Ecu dont correct such change (correct checksum), you will have Internal error.
Many Ecus works in this way, this is WHY I search a VIRGIN 100% FILE to recode it with CLIP.
This is the same as buying original NEW ecu.

Then use can clip and change vin.
As I said in ORIGINAL THREAD VIN cannot be change with CLIP.
It only allows you to change when Ecu is virgin ( NO VIN STORED).
CLIP says exactly what I say....
VIN only could be changed /stored for the first time.
For the first time VIN IS
?????????????????
OR
FFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Ive tried on eeprom both ways ( BF BF BF BF etc... or FF FF FF FF etc...)
But again I receive in Ecu Internal error ( checksum error)
I am almost sure that CHECKSUM in this Ecu is stored in line 1FC0 on last digits...simply by comparing many , many dumps...
But I have not the trick/ algo to recalc checksum...so no JOY.

Yes i tried.
It is password protected, but contacted member and gladly sent me ( Thanks rocodou)
But problem is file is not really VIRGIN!!! Message says is virgin but its not Virgin.
It is simply a working file, but not VIRGIN, already coded and VIN SET.
Tested a couple an hours ago

I see you have a serious problem.....
If your module is a virgin, programmer in line online scanner original .
If you have the pastruck online It also can
I recommend you take the dealer
Not from CRC
It's flash online.....

Not such serius problem ;)
I can simply use the file with DONOR vin, everything else is working.
I am sure there are many Ecus from this series working in this way.
Ecu is reprogrammed in dealer many times( I have really good relation with Renault).
But you KNow What???
It only updates FLASH!!!
So eeprom stays original..... ;)
If REPROGRAMM WITH CLIP solve INTERNAL ERROR, I will not open Ecu anymore( should remove plastic cap , it has no screws)
BUt thanks anyway.
Solution is VERY SIMPLE: VIRGIN FILE.
But to be honest, with this so difficult to open ecu, I am thinking this is almost impossible.
Who will buy a new one ecu, and before programm it open (lost warraty) and read.???
;)
