Hello dears,

I have lost the code for my Blaupunkt MFD radio.
I have read the dump , as 24c32, from another MFD , for which I know the code.
Then I wrote this dump to the locked MFD. For a while it worked fine and accept the code.436597
after shut down, and restore the power back, both MFD are locked and does not accept the code.
I try to read the 24c32 again, but no chance. both of them can't read the eeprom.
Probably I have doen some trevial mistake, hopefully it can be corrected .
I will appreciate if someone can help me with this.
Attached are both dumps.

Cheers,

Boris

Hello mastersky,

I have tried both codes but unfortunately they doesn't work .
The code which worked before, on the MFD with dump named MFD-nina , was 0605 .
Actually I did not overwrite its dump, just read it once, and it locked after that.

It needs to be in the car, and after reading you maybe forgot to remove the wires? ;)

Hello ''shooting'',

I already tried both units inside the car, connected , but again same problem- do not accept the code.
Yes, probably I forget to remove the wires after reading . Is it a big issue ? Can I fix it ?
Not I can't read 24cxx on both radios , and I can't write as well...
some advise hot to work it out , because I stuck there...
One of the units is from my wife's car , and the other one- from my friend's car :-(

Cheers,

Bob

What voltage are you using to power the radio?

I power the radio with +13.00 V to pins : Ub, SAFE, S-kont

I power the radio with +13.00 VTry......7.5 v

7.5 ?? OK.
but I think the radio will not start up with voltage lower than 10V..
I tried. radio does not work with voltage less than 10V

It doesn't need to power up, use 8.5 volts and leave powered for one minute..

sorry for the stupied question, but just for clarification : connect the 3 pins , as usual, to 8.5 V , without power up, and do not make any attempt to read/write in this moment .
correct ?

and what's next ?
8.5 V connected to radio for about a minute and half time.
after that no change- radio doesn't accept the codes .
Reading/writing of i2c is not possible as well.

I connect the SDA & SCL bus to these points of Blaupunkt MFD PCB.
The program I use is PonyProg. running over MS Win-XP. Laptop is with hardware RS-232 port .
+13V DC Power is connected to 3 pins : +Ubatt, SAFE, S-Kont
both Radios are same model-Blaupunkt MFD 3B0 035 191-D

with this configuration, I was able to read I2C on both MFD radios ( as 24C32 ) and saved the dumps .
I followed the procedure- first switch on the radio, do not attempt to enter any code, then connect the SDA & SCL bus to RS-232 port and read.
Later I was able to write the dump from donor radion (for which I knew the code) on the radio which I did not know the code.
It was succesful because after I test , second radio accepted the code and start-up.
after that I shut-down radio, ( not sure if disconnected SDA & SCL bus from RS-232) , and then switch-on radio again. Probably within 20 seconds time.
I just forget to wait 20 sec before switch-on radio again, as per the procedure, in order to save the new code.
The result is what I have now. The radio does not accept the code .
Probably I did the same ( switch-off and switch-on immediately the donor radio without disconnecting the SDA & SCL bus from RS-232 port).
As a result the donor radio also does not accept the code which previously worked just fine.

I will deeply appreciate any idea how to fix this sh*t I did in the rush ?

I think you may have bricked the radio, maybe wrong size written to radio (16/32/64 ect.)

I can't read neither one of them :-(
probably I do not use the correct interface and program ( PonyProg) but in the beginning I managed to read with it...

Any simple programmer made for PonyProg will work, check your COM port on your computer
