Lunh algorithm question!

Hi everyone forgive me if I'm asking silly questions but I would like to know if any of you knows if the lunh algorithm can be used to calculate the checksum of an ecu. A friend of mine has a bmw e46 and the tester said the ecu has a checksum error and well I would like to test the formula on the ecu file!

Look for some files that needed modifying in the ECU or Tuning sections. There will be some before and after dumps so you can compare if you modify the same things.
